- Fallout New Vegas Best Enb
If absolutely necessary, redownload the ENB, look at all its files, find them in your Fallout New Vegas folder, and remove them. There are mods that handle this but I've never used them and don't know for sure that they work after the fact. I believe the most popular one is on the Skyrim Nexus, not the New Vegas one, but don't quote me.

- I tried using the injector version and it still crashes. Do I need to configure something in a.ini file? I followed all the instructions given by the Rudy ENB to install. If anyone could help, that would be amazing, thank you.
- Go to your steam folder, Fallout new vegasredistsdirectxDXsetup, run it and try running the game again. Different ENB's force different effects into the game so make sure you read the fine print when downloading the ENB's e.g. If it says you need HDR but you must disable antialiasing, do it or chances are your game will be utterly broken.
- May 13, 2019 This video is going to cover how to install ENBs for Fallout New Vegas using the ENB and Reshade Manager! Music: Doc Mitchell Theme by tostikaas https://www.
Vortex allows the installation and managing of ENB Binaries and their files inside the app itself.

What is an 'ENB'?
While it is unclear what ENB actually stands for, ENB binaries are 3D graphical modifications which modify render functions in games and apply additional effects. They are used to rebalance the colour pallet of games or add effects (such as 'god rays') that are not present or possible in the original engine. In some games, ENBs can also redistribute the graphics calls from the game to more effectively use your graphics card and take the strain off your other hardware.
Where to get ENB binaries
ENB binaries are developed by Boris Vorontsov and are available to download on his website.
Install with Vortex
For the purpose of this example, we will be installing ENB Binary v0.356 for Skyrim Special Edition. Similar rules apply for other ENBs.

Download and install
How To Install Rudy Enb Fallout New Vegas 2017
Download the relevant ENB binary from the website linked above, for example, 'enbseries_skyrim_v0349'.
On the mods tab of Vortex, drag and drop the ZIP folder into the drop zone at the bottom of the page. This should make the ENB file appear as 'Never installed' in the mods table.
Click the 'Never installed' button to install the file, but don't enable it yet.
Check file directories
C program to find quadratic equation. In the Vortex mods tab, right-click the ENB mod and choose 'Open in File Manager'.
In the Windows Explorer window that opened, we need to arrange the files so they are installed correctly by Vortex. In this example, we'll be using the 'WrapperVersion' which is currently inside its own folder. In this instance, we can remove the other two files in the root folder, then copy to contents of 'WrapperVersion' to the top level and finally, remove the 'WrapperVersion' folder itself.
Update mod info in Vortex
Next, back in the Vortex mods tab double click on the ENB mod, this will open the info sidebar. The following changes should be made:
- Mod name: Change the name of the file to something more readable. (Optional)
- Version: Add the version you installed. (Optional)
- Mod Type: Change to ENB - this is required for Vortex to deploy this to the correct directory.
Now you can enable the mod, this will allow Vortex to deploy it to the same folder as the game EXE.
Check the ENB works
Launch your game and if the ENB data appears in the top left corner as the game starts, it's installed correctly. (Highlighted red in the image)
Install your ENB mod
ENBs are often divided into two different sections. The parts to put in the Game directory and the parts to put in the data directory.
In the case of Vortex, you can actually repackage these into a single file with the game directory objects on the top level and a data folder with the data directory items inside. If you choose to do down this route, ensure you set the mod type as ENB, so the files are loaded correctly.
You may also install the two parts separately, as long as the game directory part of the ENB has its mod type set to ENB properly.

I'll keep this as no-bullshit-y as possible.
In your driver program, ensure that your New Vegas profile has Anisotropic Filtering and Anti-Aliasing Mode set to Use Application Settings.

You can find enblocal.ini presets below. I've set them to use my card's 2048 MB of VRAM; if you have more than that, set it higher. In order to get the minimum VRAM required, load up your game and play for a wee while, and look at the amount of memory used under the ENB overlay's profiler section. Vanilla Skyrim used over 1GB of VRAM, but it should be less with vanilla New Vegas.
It's also required that you have New Vegas running in windowed mode, if you don't want to crash upon alt-tabbing with EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true. And that setting is a game changer, as it greatly reduces stuttering if not completely eliminating it, when models and textures are being loaded (e.g, travelling across cells, transitioing from interior <-> exterior). So have New Vegas in windowed mode, and everyone's happy. Also, when a game is in windowed mode (Windows 7 and newer), the game gets triple buffering. This means you can have VSync enabled without the framerate juddering between 15 <-> 30 <-> 60fps.
I also recommend disabling the Steam Overlay for Fallout New Vegas. It causes issues when the interface pops up (e.g, recieving a message from another player) where many objects become fully transparent, and has caused issues for some users when ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true.
Explanation of settings:
If you want to use ENB's graphics modifications alongside the ENBoost part, set UseENBoostWithoutGraphics=false.
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true Brings two major benefits. And these are brought about as the game's models and textures are no longer mirrored into RAM (as is standard with Direct3D 9). Stuttering is exceptionally reduced, as is memory usage in the FalloutNV.exe process.
If you have texture mods installed, with the amount of memory being used exceeding your GPU's VRAM, Set EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false, ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true, AutodetectVideoMemorySize=true. We lose the benefit of reduced stuttering brought by EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks, but gain the benefit of the game no longer crashing or corrupting when the VRAM is not able to hold all of the game's models, textures, shaders, render targets, and frame buffers. This is done by ENB launching multiple ENBHost.exe processes, that are then filled with the game's models and textures.
If you have a card with a large amount of memory (e.g, 8GB), it's pretty much impossible for you to reach the limits of your VRAM, so you can just keep EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true and have the best of both worlds.
